ഞങ്ങളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങള്‍ അനുഭവിക്കുന്നു;

Again darwish from "Identity Card"

Therefore!
Record on the top of the first page:
I do not hate man
Nor do I encroach
But if I become hungry
The usurper's flesh will be my food

Beware-beware- of my hunger
and my anger!!

last lines from Darwishs's Passport

Oh, gentlemen, Prophets,

Don't ask the trees for their names

Don't ask the valleys who their mother is

From my forehead bursts the sword of light

And from my hand springs the water of the river

All the hearts of the people are my identity

So take away my passport!

Last lines from Neruda's - I am explaining a few things

And you'll ask: why doesn't his poetry
speak of dreams and leaves
and the great volcanoes of his native land?

Come and see the blood in the streets.
Come and see
The blood in the streets.
Come and see the blood
In the streets!

Blast from the past- -

നഗരകവാടം നിറച്ചെന്‍റെ പൂര്‍‌വികന്‍;

ആണവയുച്ഛിഷ്ടങ്ങള്‍;

നിന്‍റെ പിറകിലായി അണിനിരക്കുന്നു;
എന്‍റെ നഗരം ചുട്ടുപഴുക്കുന്നു;

I wrote the poem 6 years back I guess! It must be sometime around Afghan Invasion. The eyes of Sarbath Gula had always haunted me. Although her pic was used as a propagnda against Soviet invasion, I had in my mind her as an image reminding us of all the refugees and all impending tragedies.

A snippet from Octavio Paaz's Poem 'nomore chiches"

This poem is to you women,
That like a Shahrazade wake up
Everyday with a new story to tell,
A story that sings for change
That hopes for battles:
Battles for the love of the united flesh
Battles for passions aroused by a new day
Battle for the neglected rights
Or just battles to survive one more night.

Yes, to you women in a world of pain
To you, bright star in this ever-spending universe
To you, fighter of a thousand-and-one fights
To you, friend of my heart.

From now on, my head won't look down to a magazine
Rather, it will contemplate the night
And its bright stars,
And so, no more clichés.
